Non-Residential Housing Property Tax Rates

Here in Vermont there are two differing rates of Property Taxation,
for the State Education Portion of ones Property Taxes, depending on
whether you as a VT property owner, use the home year round as a
Primary Home Residence, ie: “RESIDENTIAL/ HOMESTEAD” or as a
Seasonal or Second Home owner, ie: “NON-RESIDENTIAL” occupancy. The
rates are different and you must apply with the Town and State for
proper rate to be affixed. You need to apply by April 15th each year
for the upcoming year’s tax assessments. You may do so online or
your tax accountant might be able to assist with that. Call your
local Town’s Tax assessor to confirm with the Town that you are
properly rated and that you have filed and that the State and Town
